Full
Moon Seva Class
March
28th - 4:00 PM
at One Tree Yoga
"Through the spirit
of selfless action, when we have nothing to gain and nothing to
lose by not doing, performing Seva all the time to our family, and
our activities, we attain that height of realization whereby our
mind becomes absorbed in God. The practice of Seva becomes a path
to self-realization which is the essence of yoga."
"Seva
should be done with no expectation of reward or even acknowledgment
of the work that is done. We serve not to convert or save a soul,
but simply to serve and for no other reason. No strings attached.
No carrots. Make yourself invisible and do acts of kindness without
expectation of return, coming from a place of love". ~

A dynamic fun workshop
exploring yoga and play!
Juggling, group yoga, spinning plates, interactive games, flying
partner yoga, and more!
CircusYoga
is a heartfelt experience that blends the ancient practice of yoga
with the communal celebration of circus. It was designed for multi-generational
groups, ages 7 to 108! No experience in circus or yoga is necessary,
though a playful spirit is highly recommended.
A
CircusYoga workshop provides a unique opportunity for people to
play and have fun while stretching their bodies, learning new skills,
and discovering creative ways to interact with others. Our workshops
allow people to experience things that they might not have imagined
were possible, like learning how to juggle or offer healing touch
to someone through Thai massage. We create a sacred space for people
to explore their perceived boundaries and move beyond them. CircusYoga
fosters many wonderful principles including courage, trust, appropriate
risk, expansion, community, connection, deep listening, co-creation,
collaboration, cooperation, invention, and celebration.
A
typical workshop begins with an entertaining “welcoming
ritual,” during which we show off some of the activities the
group will get to experience. Then we jump right into a “fire
circle,” which involves doing simple yoga poses together to
warm our bodies and begin to connect as a unique “tribe”.
This is usually followed by some interactive and amusing games that
familiarize the group and make everyone feel at ease. We then do
any combination of the following: circus stations where we teach
people diabolos (Chinese yo-yos), devil sticks, juggling, spinning
plates, poi, hula hooping, and how to balance peacock feathers;
creative movement; partner acrobatics (counter~balancing); partner
yoga; flying partner yoga; Thai massage; and more!
