Overnight Crockpot Steel Cut Oatmeal:


1/4 c steel cut oatmeal

1 cup of liquid (fat free milk, soy or almond milk work great)

1/2 a medium apple, grated or chopped

1 TB brown sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp vanilla bean extract

pinch of salt

Use a 16-oz little dipper slow cooker:


1- spray container with cooking spray don’t skip or you will need a chisel to get it out!

2-combine all ingredients and pour into container.

3-cover with lid.

4-cook for 8 hours.

For added flavor top with nuts, berries, raisins etc

    Rice cooker also works, although I did not let them cook all night. Try roasting them first and see if there is any difference in taste.
